Bio

Daniel holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Algarve and has since moved to Lisbon to pursue an MSc in Biomedical Research at NOVA Medical School.

His academic path has taken him from studying skeletal disorders in zebrafish larvae to his current work investigating the role of CD9 in inflammation-associated neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury.

Outside the laboratory, Daniel’s greatest passion is the ocean. He spends every summer fishing on his family’s boat. He also enjoys relaxing at the beach and watching movies with family and friends.
